Can I have 24/7 motion-activated video surveillance and recording without arming my Arlo Pro?

I have a VMS4230S Arlo Pro system with 2 cameras. I set it up yesterday.

There was activity near one of the cameras sometime last night (my daughter unlocked the back door) but the system didn't record it. How can I make sure it always records video when there's motion? And how can I do that without arming the system?

I bought the system with the intention of using both video surveillance and recording, as well as the siren. But that won't work, because the app on my phone doesn't let me disarm the system. I needed to go downstairs in my house early this morning but the app didn't let me disarm the system, and I didn't want to set off the alarm and wake up the whole house.

Is there a way to record any motion-activated video WITHOUT arming the system? As I said, I won't be using the siren due to the above problem.

So far, I'm not at all impressed with this system. If someone can help me with the above issues, I may keep it.  Otherwise, it's going back to Sam's Club.

The only way to do this is to plug the camera into AC power and subscribe to CVR for at least that one camera.
