Can I Hardwire Arlo Pro Camera using a low voltage power supply?

Can I hard wire my cameras using a low voltage power supply by cutting the micro usb connection off of the power cord and connecting the low voltage wires to the power cord?

Define "low voltage". The cameras run off typical USB 5v (9v to charge the battery). It would be much easier to just use the USB adapters.
