Camera did not record with contractors pulling up to drive way but captured random times.

So I had a contractor at my house, the camera's did not record them pulling up the driveway, they captured some random time they walked by the camera and then didn't record them leaving...how can this company keep selling these products that cost so much and are outdated in 6 months?
