When I tried to view the cameras, I get the message that my cameras appear to be offline. When I checked the base station, the middle button, out of the 3 on the bottom front, is not lit up.

That one is the internet light, and it means that your base station is not connecting to your router.  See page 11 here: https://www.arlo.com/en-us/images/documents/arlopro/arlo-pro-base-station-accessory-QSG.pdf

 

Try a different cable, and also a different LAN port on the router.

Sometimes rebooting the router helps.
