Unable to get my base unit to activate. Had problems earler today (12/09) and had to do a facctory reset.

Got it reinstalled and now it doesn't want to activate fully. On top of the unit are 3 lights. The first one stays lit. The second one keeps flashing/stopping/flashing. The third one, which I think is for syncing the cameras, will not come on.

The lights on the front of the base do not come on.

What do I need to do to get my system back on line?

It's been a while since I used a VMB4000 but don't remember 2 set of LEDs, just one on the front. However, what you describe seems relatively normal. What you don't tell us is the color of the LEDs which is important.

The power LED should be solid green. The Internet LED should also be green but may blink with network access.  The Camera LED may be off or solid amber.

You say you reset the base but how? Did you hold the reset button until the LEDs flashed amber? If so, did you also remove all devices in Settings, My Devices? You can't claim a base that's already claimed which is the reason you have to remove it after a reset. After you've done both, try claiming it again.

If you did a factory reset, then you need to resync the cameras back to the base ( third led )

BTW

leds in left to right

1) power... green unless booting

2) internet... green and normal flashing now and then for data flow

3) cameras... will stay green with at least one camera sync'ed

I think I discovered the problem. I didn't push the sync button on the back of the base. Just did that and now my first camera is working.

FYI. I went online and asked the same question and what came up was a link to chat with a live agent. Clicked on it and got a link to allow remote. Got suspicious after the foreign accent and he said I needed to update my security for 2, 5, lifetime. Bam. Closed it out. Scam. Changed passwords too.
Here's the link I was given for live chat.

This is a total phishing scam.

I will mark your reply as the solution.

Thank you
