Hello,
I purchased a package for 2 Arlo Pros, which came with the magnetic round mounts. I am currently using them outdoors, but want to get a more secure mount.
What is the difference b/w VMA1000 & VMA4000? pros/cons on each?

VMA1000 are longer and give you more flexibility of mounting, especially to soffits, with ease of orientation of the camera. VMA4000 is smaller and more streamlined and brilliant for attaching to a wall etc. but you may struggle to point the the camera where you want if you attach the VMA4000 to a soffit

If you want the camera to be permanently connected to power or a solar panel and get the VMA1000, make sure you get a newer one with a small securing nut as the old, larger nut can interfere with the power connection

Thank you steve, very helpfully!
So if it's on a wall or it's on a ceiling, will both work fine and I will be able to adjust it once I attach the camera? Just trying to figure out which one will be more secure, especially if very high winds or an animal knocks it over as how it's currently set up with the magnetic round mounts I have.

If you're likely to be in very high winds or have animals knock it (I've had birds land on my cameras), the VMA1000 is probably the better bet with the screw collar securing the camera in place. Also if mounting on a ceiling, the VMA1000 is the better choice
