I've noticed that when people are walking down the sidewalk, the first motion will start a recording (30s).  But while the person is still infront of the house, the next recording does not start.  I know they are are still in front, but no follow on recording...?  In this case kid was running around in our yard and parent came to fetch him, didn't record them walking back to their house.

From standby, the PIR senses the motion and starts recording with the PIR turning off (presumably to save battery power). Once your preset recording time ends, the camera takes a few seconds to reset itself and turn the PIR back on ready to sense again.
Many people have asked if the PIR can remain active during recording so continued motion means continued recording. No such luck as yet but perhaps something that will come in the future.
You many find if 30s is not enough, that 40-45 seconds is a better recording length.
Unfortunately, it's one of the drawbacks that come with completely wireless camera plus them wanting to conserve battery life

As mentioned... reset of the PIR happens.. it takes 10-20 sec for this to happen

If motion continues, it will record again for the set time
