Using the flat white cable that came with the unit I plugged the tiny end into the camera [difficult], then the USB end into my computer/outlet;  Here is the error I got:

"The charging source connected to the camera cannot charge your battery. Please use the power adapter designed for your camera."

Does this mean that I will ALWAYS have to find that "stupid block" to charge?

WHY did they put a "control/stop" on the cable/Camera AC power adapter?

What's the work around?

To make matters worse I can only charge ONE battery at a time!!!

The charger that comes with the Arlo systems use the Qualcom dual voltage system which are different from the chargers that come with, say, your smart phones. The camera battery needs 9 volts to charge and 5 volts to operate. The Smart phone chargers only have the 5 volt connection.

So, yes, you will need to use the Arlo power adapter that plugs into your wall outlet to charge the batteries.

As brh mentioned, voltage is different, computer USB port won't work.

If you want to charge 2 batteries at once.........
