I purchased the Arlo Pro VMS4130 single camera system.  This camera came with the power adapter and rechargeable battery.

Can I use that power adapter to keep the camera plugged in at all times?  I have the camera mounted to the peak of my garage.  My thought was to drill a hole into my attic.  Feed the cable from the inside to the outside and connect to camera.  I would have the power adapter inside my attic.

I noticed they recalled the outdoor camera cord.  I don't know what the full intent of this cord is?  Is it meant to pull your camera down and charge it and then put it back up?

Camere system works great, just hoping I won't have to climb a ladder 17' to pull the camera down everytime it needs a recharge.

Thanks!

The outdoor charger had a seal for the cable/camera connection. The indoor cable does not, leading to water infiltration issues that can cause corrosion on the contacts or even meltdowns/fire. Not a good diea without somehow sealing the connection which might lead to warranty invalidation.

Also, 17 feet up is a bit of a problem with getting the motion detection to work as best as possible. If you're happy, go for it but you're getting to the edge of good motion detection as well as too wide a view.
