I'm just trying to find out if the battery would be damaged if left plugged in indefinately. The camera was purchased primarily to comunicate with mute parent in assisted living facility; so security is not the issue here. Being able to talk and view parent at the same time through the camera would probably drain battery too fast; and there will be 3 of us using it at different times; so I'm wanting to keep it plugged in so it is care-free for parent. Please advise. Than you much; we may have to purchase charging station with extra batteries; if this causes damage to the battery.

No problem. The camera limits the actual charge level to 80%, the recommended level for best Li-ion batteries. The indicator shows 100% but that's 100% of that 80%.
