I just unpackaged the system. Followed directions and different variations.

My setup is:

Spectrum cable modem, that acts as a wireless router as well.

Output from the modem to a Samsung SmartThings mesh network (what I connect all my devices to)

First attempt:

Follow directions, with my phone on the mesh network.

Base station boots up. 2 green lights, camera light dark

App from phone, No arlo devices found

Hard reset

Second attempt:

I thought maybe my phone needs to be connected directly to the spectrum modem/router

Follow directions, with my phone on the spectrum modem/router. (2.4 GHZ)

Base station boots up. 2 green lights, camera light dark

App from phone, No arlo devices found

Hard reset

Third attempt:

I thought maybe my phone needs to be on the other channel 5GHZ

Follow directions, with my phone on the spectrum modem/router. (5 GHZ)

Base station boots up. 2 green lights, camera light dark

App from phone, No arlo devices found

For an 'easy' solution this is either not easy, or they dont think through enough scenarios nor provide enough information

Any thoughts?

(Other devices broadcast their own wifi signal for connection and setup, TPLINK for example, WAY easier)

Reboot your modem/router and base, in that order, and try again.

Thanks, will try later today.

Additional question.

Based on my setup (Cable modem/router) ++ Samsung mesh.

Does the base unit need to be directly plugged into the cable modem/router and NOT into Samsung mesh?

Additionally, my phone needs to be on the cable modem/router wifi, NOT Samsung mesh network?

Thanks

It may help to start with the base plugged into the modem/router directly as well as having your phone connected to that, too. If all goes well, you should be able to move the base to where you need it and connect your phone as desired.

My base station is connected to a Netgear Mesh. No need for direct connection to router.
