Most base stations actually use 12volts and so, has anyone been able to use a cigarette lighter plug to run the base station? Thanks

Seems reasonable but don't forget that battery voltage with the engine running is almost 15v.  i don't know whether that would be a problem but...

I run one from an after market ac adapter without issues.... A quality 12v dc adapter that is regulated shouldn't be an issue.

Runing straight without regulation, normal voltage of an auto battery is 13-13.4v standing

Thanks for the idea. I'm looking at a Cellink-B rechargeable 12v battery pack as the cigarette lighter does not have power when the key is not in the ignition. The Cellink-B is designed to power a dash cam and has a cigarette lighter connection to recharge it. Do you think this will work?
