With all the talk about Arlo coming out with a solar panel in March, I was looking at the Ring Solar Panel online and was wondering if anyone has tried it with the Arlo system? It apparently has the same microUSB connector as Arlo. Seem's to easy of an answer though.

I tested the Ring solar panel with my Arlo Pro cams months ago and it did NOT work, which was not surprising. It was an interesting experiment back then, but rather silly at this point given that the Arlo panel is finally hitting retail any day now.

The shape of the weatherproof plug around the USB connector may be a different shape.

I'm guessing the weather proof plug would be easy to work around. With my 3 camera's all being under the eve's of my home rain is'nt a big issue. At least for me.

I haven't checked them out but if the solar panel's weatherproofing plug is too large, there will be an issue since you'd have to reshape it.

I tried it and, unfortunately, it's not compatible with the Arlo Pro cameras. It plugs in just fine, but the batter gets no charge from it.

Arlo recently said on this communtity forum site that they were shooting for a mid May release date of the new Arlo Solar Panel. After all of us being led on with different dates, this Monday should be mid May in my book.
I won't be holding my breath.

Looks like the solar panel is finally listed in the Arlo products section as coming soon (Model VMA4600): https://www.arlo.com/en-us/products/arlo-pro/solar-panel.aspx#VMA4600
