Is there a way to make the solar panel cable longer by about 20 feet?

Well, since the cable is fixed to the backside of the panel you would either need to cut the cord and solder in additional wires or you open up the housing of the pannel and change the cable entirely.

A more suitable and easier way would be to get yourself a extension cord for micro-usb.

Unless there's been a change in the solar panels, the cable can be disconnected at both ends.

In any event, the big issue is weather-proofing the connections. With enough effort and the right materials it can be done but it's up to you to make sure water can't get in anywhere.

Cable is pluggable at the bottom of the panel!

Thanks all! I actually got a micro usb connector and connected a longer cable to the end of the solar wire!

Weather-seal it well on both ends of the extension or problems are apt to pop up.
