If I purchase something like:

Arlo Smart Security System with 5 Arlo Cameras (VMS3530)

Can I add Arlo PRO cameras to that same system or would I need a different base or something else?

Also.. how many cameras can I add to one base?  I'd like to end up with 8 or 9 total with 2 of those being PRO models.  Would I be better off with the regular base or a PRO base? I don't need siren.. just need to be able to record.

Thanks!

If all you need to do is record and not use any of the Pro extra features the original base will be fine. If you may want to, say, plug in a USB drive to record locally, you'll need the Pro base. The cameras are all compatible withe each base but you'll lose the extra features by not using the Pro base.

As for the number of cameras, each base supports up to 15 cameras although only 5 at a time can stream. Use of all those cameras on one base means you'll have to upgrade from the free plan, too. Using a second account, you can use a second base so some cameras are on one and the rest on the second. You can then grant access from one account to the other so you can see all cameras in one login. Just be aware that the use of a second base, regardless of whether on one or two accounts, means you can't create rules for cameras on another base. Maybe not an issue but worth knowing. Also, you can have unlimited bases on one account - it's the total number of cameras that will define what plan you can use.

So I was wondering this also.  I have the 3 Arlo Basic Camera set up.  I wanted to add the Arlo Pro to the front door for voice.  Would this work on the base?  Or will I need to buy the Arlo Pro and Base set-up.  Thank you

TampaRNguy,

The audio functions are Arlo Pro camera features. This will work regardless of which base station is used.
