I've got a chime 2 but my pro5 cameras don't show up as an option to be connected to it. I hope this doesn't mean that I have to have a hub !? I'm.hoping it's a simpler answer folks 😪
Thanks for your help !

Tallj,
Are you wanting the Chime 2 to play a sound when when the Pro 5 detects motion? If so, jguerdat's instructions above are correct, you just need to select "Play Sound" in the actions list rather than Customize Device. You can then create a rule to have the Chime 2 play a sound and select the sound you want it to play.

Did you see if the camera rules include an option to ring the chime when they detect motion?

Hi,
I'm supposed to be able to go the chime in the app and see a list of "paired devices" - I only get the option to pair a doorbell - I need to be able to have an option to pair the pro5 ?
I don't know how else to get them talking to each other.
as I say - I don't have a base station - but nothing I've read tells me I need one to do this. They are all on the same network.
thanks
John.

Again, I don't have the chime 2. But I believe you are incorrect.
You pair the doorbell, so anytime the doorbell is pressed the chime 2 will ring.
But with the cameras, my understanding is that you are doing something called "cross-triggering". That is briefly mentioned in the camera manual, but unfortunately there are no details given on the steps. Try going into the rule for one of the cameras, and see if you can "add device" in the rule, and then choose the chime 2. That is the way cross-triggering is normally done (telling one camera to record when another senses motion).
FWIW, another challenge here is that there are known issues with the Arlo Chimes when you use the 4.0 "Feed" experience. So this might be just one of several things that aren't working with that UI yet. I believe @jguerdat uses the chime 2, so hopefully he will weigh in.

Chimes and doorbells pair with each other - nothing else pairs like that.
My Pro5 is connected to my SmartHub so there's a possibility there may be a difference in operation but I wouldn't think so. Assuming you're trying to use the Chime 2 to alert you due to detection by a Pro5 you would need to edit the appropriate rule in the appropriate mode (Armed Away and the rule for the Pro5 for instance). Click on Add An Action at the bottom and then Customize Device (not exactly intuitive but...). The next screen provides a list of available devices to use which should include the chime. Select that and Modify Settings followed by Audio Settings.
Is that what you're ultimately after?

Hmmm, that allows me to change the volume and/or duration of the device which doesn't work 🙂
So, when the documentation and web says chime2 works with pro5 they're lying ?
