I'm sure this has been covered somewhere but i just got a couple of pro5 cameras and connected to my google nest wifi. Connecting worked fine but after a while, even trying to view a live feed doesn't work. I'll have to reset, it'll work perhaps once trying to view live feed, then stop. Connection is strong and no issues with signal. Is this a known issue? happens with both cameras. Appears to be connected to 5g. Any advice? i'll get rid of arlo altogether as i have older cams that connect to base station.

Any chance the camera lost it's connection due to switching between satellites/router? BTW, the cameras use only 2.4GHz, not 5GHz.

Not the case - the Pro 5s cameras are dual band.

Yeah i just checked and it's switched off. Not sure about fire wall though. Thing is, i can connect camera first go, it works for a little while and then will stop operating. By that i mean, camera is online but can't live feed, nor does it recording motion etc. I have to do a full reset and then go through the loop again.

That shouldn't be a problem if you are using a consumer router (like google nest).  And if the camera connects sometimes, then it is not a firewall problem (and not a wifi settings problem).

FWIW, my own Pro 5 works reliably with my Orbi mesh.

  • Is there one mesh element is significantly closer (so it will always have the strongest signal)?
  • Is it possible that one of the mesh elements doesn't have a reliable connection to the mesh backhaul?

Not entirely sure but the wifi point is about 3m away. I've had the point right next to it. will show weak connection always. This is the third pro5 i've tried and exactly the same issue.

You could try turning off all the mesh elements except the main router, and then install the camera while near the router (2-3m is a good distance for that).

yep. tried that also. I have it connected to a smart hub also now. Works for about 2 hours and then fails to stream. This is a really strange occurrence. I have no issues with older cameras
