When Pro 5 camera records a video or you do a live view it records with colorful horizontal streaks across the image/video.  Has anyone had this issue?  Can this issue be fixed or is the camera failing?  This camera is about a year and 9 months old.  I have numerous other Pro 5 cameras but only one camera is having this issue.  Photo of issue included

Is the camera connected to power using a 3rd party adapter? Another recent post indicated that removing power cleared up his problem.

Otherwise, I'd guess the camera has an issue. It may be worth swapping cameras or bringing it closer to your router or hub to see if there's a difference.

Using a Arlo charger brick plugged into a smart plug.  The smart plug is only powered while charging for an hour once a week.  It has a solid WiFi signal and is connected to the hub has no issue connecting or recording.  Seems like it might be an IR issue to me.

That is easy to check.  Just turn on the spotlight while livestreaming, and the camera should switch to low-light color.

Are these streaks stationary, or do they change while livestreaming?

Is the camera still covered by the hardware warranty?

The red and green lines are moving all throughout the recording whether motion video or live view or whether during the day ( when spotlight is not on) or at night with spotlight. The lines cover the entire video.  When I first notice this a couple of weeks ago it was just the night recordings and was just the top 25% of the video which looked like the sky was flashing. But then it got bad about 5 days ago.

This camera has now gone off line sometime this morning and I can’t get it to connect despite turning on the charger power to the camera.  (I charged it to 100% yesterday and it recorded a video at 3 am this morning on motion but then went offline sometime after that). This camera was installed in June 2023 so I would say it’s past the warranty period.  I did purchase directly from Arlo.

In most places the warranty is 12 months, so it'd be out of warranty.  The EU is an exception if you had the Secure Plus subscription there when you purchased, the warranty would have been extended to 2 years.

You could try a factory reset.  Remove it from the account.  Then open the housing and press the sync button inside until the camera LED flashes amber (~15 sec).  Then see if you can add it back to your account.

Usually when I connect it to power if it goes offline it will connect back but that doesn’t seem to be working.  So I suspect the camera has just quit working.  I have had secure plus for 7-8 years so I had that when I purchased but I think the warranty is one year.  Maybe it will re-connect but even if it does it doesn’t resolve the stripes streaming through the video.  Looks like I’m going to need to replace this camera.  Over the 9+ years I’ve had Arlo cameras beginning with the original netgear model I have not had a camera go bad…..so this is new with this pro 5 model

This camera went offline on 2-6-25.  It was charged to 100% on 2-5-25. On 2-11-25 I got the camera to reconnect but the battery was at 1%.  It is connected to power but it’s too cold to charge outside.  It is detecting motion and doing a snapshot.   Hopefully it will charge today when it gets above 32°.  It does have a message that says connect compatible charger.  ( it’s a Arlo charger with a Arlo power brick). So probably still. A camera going bad but it actually doesn’t have the streaks in the snapshot photos like it did before it went offline.  I’ll see how it works when it gets charged back up to 100%

Last update:

The camera starting charging when the temperature got above 32°.  ( battery was at 1%).  It is now charged to 60% and I will keep power to the charger until it gets to 100%.  The quirky part is the camera is now recording video like normal.  NO green and red streaks.  Looks perfectly normal.  So I did nothing to this camera except turn on the power to charge it  (the camera is on a Arlo power cable and Arlo charger plugged into a smart plug where I can turn on power to charge) so this camera basically healed itself.  Very strange behavior but thankful it is working now.  We will see how long it lasts.
