Whenever my Arlo Pro 5S 2K camera goes into Low Power mode I get notifications for all motion, even though the system is configured to detect only people.

When not in Low Power mode everything works just fine.  I only receive notifications when the camera detects a person.  However, as soon as it switches to Low Power mode I get constant notifications for any motion (for example, trees blowing in the wind).

Is this a software defect or a known issue?

First, Smart Notifications does not change detection - the servers use the recording to determine what caused the detection.

As for Low Power Mode, I haven't used it so can't comment on exactly how it works but it may well be correct operation. I believe you should be getting snapshots, not videos, when in LPM  - is that true? If so, the servers can't determine the cause of the detection base on a single frame.
