I recently added 3 new Pro 5s cameras to my base station. It shows that they are set to locally record but they won’t. When the 30 day free trial ran out I had to remove them and set them up again on the base station. I have checked all the steps. They are set to locally record. The firmware is up to date on the cameras and the base station. My door bell does have a subscription. I’m also running 1 arlo pro 2 with no issues connected to the base station. Any advice!! I don’t want to be pushed into paying a larger price for a subscription. I would like for my videos on all other cameras local if possible.

What model base station fo you own?  Look for a VMBxxxx label on it.

Only the VMB4540 and VMB5000 smarthubs support direct access to local storage.  VMB4000 and VMB5000 hubs support local recording, but have no playback capability.

The Pro 2 cameras came with 7-day free cloud storage, so you will see recording for this camera even if you don't have a subscription for it.  Many people here are wrongly thinking they are seeing local recordings with these cameras, when in fact they are being stored in the Arlo Cloud.

I am running the VMB4000. All of the cameras show that they are set to locally record. They even show the little usb icon on the camera. The arlo pro 2 camera is the only one that is actually recording. The cameras will live stream and seem to work fine other than just not recording and saving the footage to the usb on the base station?

Did you

  1. eject the storage from the app
  2. plug it into a PC (Windows or Mac)
  3. browse the storage, looking at the recordings?

As I've said a couple of times now, the VMB4000 DOESN'T let you play back local recordings.  The ONLY way to see local recording is to use the procedure above.

The Pro 2 recordings are NOT local, but are in the cloud.

I struggle with this exact issue.  Here is the solution.

Using the phone app.  Devices>>>click on your hub station>>>Storage Settings

And you will see your recording within 1-2 minutes.

If you are looking at your Feed>>>Local, it can take almost 24hrs for the videos to show up.  Or if at all, as I don't remember when it was trigged.   Then you get like 15 videos at once.

I had this this situation with no solution, after reset, pair, download again, etc, etc.

I have Pro, Pro4, and Pro5 cameras.  The Pro5 has been the longest to show up on my Feed>> Local.

Again, I don't have a solution to this problem, but this is just a way to work around it.  As soon as I get a notification, that's where I go to see the recordings.

Actually not the solution, as you simply cannot access local recordings from @CHA8326 's VMB4000 base.  It doesn't have that feature.

You are correct.  My current hub is VMB4540, so my reply is not correct for him.

(Had the VMW4000 with when I had the Pro cameras and the old app.)
