I have been using Arlo cameras along with Arlo Secure Plus Software/App since 2018. I like the hardware/software in general/overall but was hoping that with new hardware and AI based subscription software/app for secure plus, some of the irritants that trigger false alerts will go away…However are they still there and result in multiple false motion alerts daily for animal, so here are a few product improvement ideas for Arlo team to eliminate false motion alerts for:

1. Shadow of swinging tree/branches when windy.

2. Shrub branches swinging when windy

3. Fallen leaves rolling on ground when windy

4. Rotating fan blades of outdoor AC unit when it switches on

Anyone else have these issues, any comments from Arlo community?

i hope that the Arlo team will review and act on these suggestions.

Thanks

Each of these are not the actual reason for false triggers. WHat is happening is the sun's strong IR being reflected and detected as motion. As the sun's angle changes, the issues will go away or at least change. The best way to fix this is to position the cameras to eliminate those items from view so the reflections are minimized. You can also reduce motion sensitivity while still maintaining the coverage needed but testing is needed.

Appreciate your feedback. I cannot change the camera location as that is the area I need coverage. Also have plenty of trees and shrubs so lots of shadows, motion when windy and don’t wanna cut them all. However, I will try reducing the sensitivity, hopefully it will help. Thanks again for your suggestion!
