Hi, is it correct that activity zones only work when camera is connected to ac power? Also having set up activity zones but now running on battery the camera does not notify nor record video. It does recognise movement and turns on light at night but sends no alerts nor records. This is a new camera. Have I set it up wrongly?

    No, that's not quite correct.

    • If you have a subscription, the activity zones will work on battery or solar power.  They are applied in the Arlo Cloud - video is streamed whenever motion is detected by the camera, and the Cloud decides if the motion is in-zone or not.  Note this will not help battery life, but it can eliminate unwanted notifications and recordings.
    • If you have no subscription, then you need AC power, because the camera is always capturing video and looking for motion.

    1. What is your subscription status?
    2. Is the camera directly connected to your home wifi, or are you using an Arlo Hub?
    3. If you are using a hub, then what model is it?  Look for a VMBxxxx label on the base.
