I am troubleshooting my system with the goal of recording locally without need for a subscription.

I originally installed 4 cameras, and then added a SmartHub (VMB4540), and added it to my system. It is plugged in to the LAN directly, and has a USB stick plugged into it.

In Settings, when I tap on the SmartHub, then Storage Settings, I've enabled:

- Record Locally

- Best local Recording

- Overwrite Automatically

- Direct Storage Access

I have not enabled Port Forwarding.

I have all of my cameras set to Armed, but do not see videos in my library (I have selected Base Station in my Library). When I click on one of my cameras, and click to Edit the Armed mode, the rule is 'If motion on [camera]'; However, Record video is greyed out.

Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

You’re comment suggests that you installed the cameras to the wifi, then added a smart hub.

the smart hub/ base station requires the cameras to be connected thru it so it can backup the triggered recordings.

When the cameras are connected to the local wifi you are only able to get cloud recordings, no backup.

remove the cameras and install to use the hub.

Btw, manual recordings are only allowed to cloud storage, not backup.
