I'm so confused about the need for a subscription to record events.  I have a base station VMB4000 with a USB drive connected that is recording events from my Arlo Pro.  But none of the events for the 4 newer Pro 4s are recording.  Do I need to have a subscription for them to record locally?  I don't need another $120/yr subscription especially after buying all the equipment I did.i don't need cloud storage .

The pro2 cameras have 7days free cloud storage but the pro4 needs to have a paid subscription plan to record to the cloud storage.

The vmb4000 Base supports backup recordings to the USB storage device but you need to remove the USB to view recordings on a pc.

If you need to stay away from cloud storage you can replace the base with a vmb4540 hub to access the USB storage device via the mobile app only.
