Dear All, first of all, I am an Arlo customer since a really long time as I have the first generation still working and I have 4 different 4 camera kits in my different properties. I have purchased a Pro4 after the trial period all the functionalities disappeared which I never had with my old ones... I was extremely disappointed as I have basically a camera for nothing it is still my old system which is informing me if anything is happening. The reason I've spend probably over $AU5k with Arlo during the Years was that I wasn't forced to buy the monthly fee I didn't wanted to pay as I considered that I paid a premium camera that was already the most expensive on the market. I haven't made any post on Google yet but I can definitely see a lot of customers being unhappy about the policy and the product (except this current set which is too sensitive despite that I've put them on the lowest level, I never had a problem). In one hand I am glad I've only purchased one Pro4 and not the set of 4, on the other hand I am extremely disappointed by this policy and except if Arlo will change this very quickly, I am afraid that I will have to replace my sets step by step by other brands...Commercially I do not understand why it is good for Arlo to loose so many loyal customer like myself?

The policy has been around since 2018 when everyone else began charging for cloud storage. Arlo jumped onto the bandwagon back then to everyone’s dismay with the ultra.

This is why the earlier models are worth their weight in gold and very hard to source as they retain the 7days free cloud storage.

If you purchase the 4540 or 5000 base station, they’ll allow you to manage your own local storage using the mobile app but there are a lot of limitations.

Hi Danny, Thank you for your reply, I agree unfortunately those camera's starts to be dated, quality is so much better with the 2k/4k technology, I am afraid it is probably pushing me to replace Arlo by another product...I just wanted to check before doing it if Arlo is considering a change in the way they work. It is a pity as I have promoted them for so long around me, even I am an end-user they probably sold 54 systems (camera's, door bell, etc) thanks to the fact that I was a happy customer until now... But people started to claim more and more the fact that they are unhappy part of the reason I've purchase the latest Pro. Anyway it is what it is, Thank you again for your reply. All the Best
