Is there a way to program a Pro 4 to delay the activation of the spot light for 5 to 10 seconds after the camera starts recording? I'd like any intruder walking towards my door at night to trigger the camera and activate recording but give them time to get close to the door for a clear facial shot before the light comes on which would likely scare them away. I know I can do this manually from my phone but wondered if there is a way to program in a delay.

Eltee,

There is no feature to allow this. Within your modes/rules you can set up the spotlight to activate on motion detection, but this activation cannot be configured to trigger on a delay.

Thank you for clarifying the inability to delay activation of the light automatically.

I've been a cop for nearly 30 years and having watched countless security camera videos I truly believe that if a security light detects an intruder / visitor and activates, the intruder will turn and leave whereas a legit visitor will benefit from the light. By enabling a short delay, the camera can discreetly record anyone within its range for a few seconds and THEN activate the light. If it was an intruder then there is some footage of him.

Is this something that Arlo can consider for future development?

THANK YOU.
