Can Arlo Pro 4 Cameras read license plates? and at what distance. I have the Arlo Pro I think the first edition, and they do not show that detail. I am looking for something where I can see the information clearly. Last year we had some kids throw a rock at the window, but we could not see the plate and could not make out the make model of the car. It was only 50 feet away....

There's 4 main issues with seeing detail:
1) Camera resolution (Pro 4 is 2k - 2560x1440 or 3.6 megapixels)
2) Compression of the video stream
3) Camera lens angle of view
4) Distance to the object
WHile 2k looks great on a TV or computer screen, it's really not high resolution. Add compression to the video and detail is lost. Then figure that each pixel has to cover a greater angle of view than a camera that uses a narrower view. Finally the distance to that object means the number of pixels covering the specific area are limited. If you can see license plate detail at 50 feet, I'd be highly surprised. Having a camera closer to the location of interest would help the most.
