After charging camera it does not power on. Shows an occasional orange light. Please advise.

Slow blinking amber LED means a dead battery. Verify that connecting the camera to AC power actually causes the camera to briefly blink blue followed a few hours later by a solid blue (indicating fully charged). You may want to try this procedure if the battery is fully dead - the key is to plug and unplug several times to get enough charge into the battery to then let it charge normally:
