I don’t want the lights to give away where the cameras are. I have other motion detecting lights in these cameras areas. I’ve put black electrical tape over the lights. Will that effect anything?

No but why not just disable the lights in the camera video settings?

The blue led and the spotlight can be turned off in the camera settings.
If you are putting tape over the red leds, then you are blocking the IR spotlights used for NightVision. So Nightvision won't work unless you have an IR floodlight covering the area.
