I have an Arlo Pro (4) camera setup, which I've been using for about 6 years. I've been pretty pleased with it and I especially like being able to swap out the batteries and the 7 days of free video storage. My system is working fine but I am aware It's going to EOL in July. As I understand it, The cameras with removable batteries are the Ultra, Pro 3, Pro 4, and Pro 5. Is that correct? I am also aware that Arlo has changed its subscription model so that video storage on all newer cameras is by subscription only (after the initial trial period expires). Is that also accurate? If so, that will probably be a deal breaker for me. It's nice tech, but I don't see the point of paying top dollar for the cameras and then also needing a subscription for storage and some of the features to work.

The Pro (VMC4030) is already EOL, the Pro 2 (VMC4030p) goes EOL in January 2025.

The cameras continue to work, so no need to rush to replace them.

Yes.  There is a direct access to local storage feature that some here use instead of a subscription.  But IMO it offers a poor user experience.  You'd also need to replace your base with a VMB4540 or VMB5000 smarthub to use it.
