I set up my Arlo Pro 4 yesterday and it seemed to be working fine but this morning my son pulled into our driveway with his truck and entered our garage door but none of this appeared on camera. When he left our home it did not detect him leaving the door or pulling back out of driveway. Last night I drove up our driveway and it did show my vehicle pulling into the drive. Shortly afterwards we had someone else pull in and it did not detect their vehicle either. We had these cameras installed for this purpose as we are going to be gone. Why does it pick up one person and not another? This is so frustrating and I’m considering returning these cameras.

It's based on infrared, not the objects. As the ambient temps drop, the amount of IR emitted may well drop, too. The system isn't really aimed at detecting vehicles although they do emit a good amount of IR so will be detected at farther distances than people. People also tend to bundle up more, possibly reducing their emissions.

You can increase the motion sensitivity in your modes and rules to try to mitigate this issue.

FWIW, some posters have reported that the color of the vehicle makes a difference.

I agree with @jguerdat that adjusting the motion sensitivity is a good thing to try.

Also, keep in mind that the camera is most sensitive to motion across the field of view, and also it is more sensitive to motion at the bottom than it is to motion at the top.  So pointing the the camera straight down the driveway isn't the best.  Instead, try placing it so that the vehicle cuts across the field of view.
