Hello: I'm looking at purchasing Arlo Pro 4 XL Spotlight 3 Camera Security Bundle, and had a few questions. If I do not want the monthly fees, will still get alerts, and be able to view the videos through the app, when I'm away from home?

Also, will I have the capability to talk through the cameras without the monthly expense?

https://kb.arlo.com/000062312/What-options-will-I-have-when-the-Arlo-trial-ends summarizes the features you will have w/o a subscription.

If your bundle includes a VMB4540 smarthub (and you pair your cameras with that smarthub), then you can access videos through the app after the trial.  https://kb.arlo.com/000062337/What-is-Direct-Storage-Access-and-how-do-I-use-it

There are limitations

  1. Recordings only available in the app (not the browser)
  2. Recordings only available in the primary account (not friend accounts)
  3. No Manual Recordings or Snapshots
  4. No Thumbnails
  5. Remote access is possible, but requires router configuration (which some find difficult).

One more question. If I have 2 houses, will the app allow me to differentiate between the 2 entities ?? They will have different WIFI networks of course.

The two houses would each need their own base, so you'd need two smarthubs to avoid a subscription.

You'd keep them in one account, and would be able to see all the cameras.

Not sure what you mean by differentiate - each base can have it's own schedule, and you can name the cameras to make it easy to tell which is on each site.  Geofencing would only work with one of the sites (at a time anyway).
