I bought an Arlo Pro 4 a couple months ago and mounted it out front. I live on a busy street so I have the arlo set up in a way where the camera has full view of my driveway and the street by default. I set the recording area so that the camera records just half of my driveway and sidewalk. If I have the recording area include the street, the camera will die in three days. I typically get maybe 10-14 days on battery using best battery life option with the reduced recording area. Recently, I've noticed a repeated pattern when the camera gets to like 40% battery, it starts behaving in a weird way where it seems like the recording area is no longer being applied. The camera is recording for 4-5 minutes at a time and the videos show nothing triggering the camera most of the time. At first I thought it was wind or something since I bushes on the side of the driveway but I don't think that's the case because it still occurs when I lower the motion sensitivity. It really feels like the camera is being triggered by things outside the recording area. Anyone have a camera that has behaved like this? The battery life is like 5% a day when operating normally and then it once this issue triggers, the camera drains itself in day. It's really frustrating because I don't see anything triggering the recordings at all.

FWIW, activity zones do NOT improve battery life. The camera always streams video to the Arlo Cloud when it detects motion. The cloud then analyzes the video - if it is in-zone it saves it and sends a notification; if it is out-of-zone it drops it. So the camera is always operating the same way, no matter how the activity zone is set.
