Found this YT video on charging a dead Arlo battery. It worked for me!

I've had this exact problem recently, and this tip worked for me. I hooked up my modern charger (which has reg 12v, motorcycle and maintainer options) using the 12V setting option, exactly as shown in the video, and attaching it to 2 metal screws on the battery terminals. My charger beeped a few times, but after a couple of tries, the battery started charging immediately once I put it back in the camera/housing and plugged in the magnetic charging cord. My battery had been dead for a month, and nothing else worked – not even cleaning with alcohol or leaving it plugged in for 48 hours. Using the 12-volt charger to "shock" it back to life was the solution. I'm waiting to see if it charges completely and how long the charge will last. I will report back in a week or so. Additional info on separate issue: Regarding the Arlo charging cord problem discussed on various forums, I had the same issue. A new cord didn't solve it; neither worked reliably on my three Arlo Pro 4XL units. I believe the housing design is flawed, causing poor contact at the charging points. Cleaning ALL metal surfaces with lint-free wipes and rubbing alcohol only resolved the issue for one unit. However, by applying pressure to the other housing units at the charging points while plugging in the original cord, I managed to get the other 2 units to charge the batteries. This indicates the housing and its contacts are the problem and need thorough cleaning each time and may also require applying pressure to the charging points. One of my units charges consistently, so I've been using it as a charging station for the other batteries until today when I tried additional cleaning and applying pressure on the units. Now I have 2 charge cords and can charge my 3 units faster...just requires a little extra fiddling to get them to work.

SOunds risky to me. The Arlo procedure is found here:

The key is to plug in and unplug many times to get enough charge into the battery to then allow it to charge normally. Your "shock" method may be accomplishing the same thing although at a risk.
