So I've had these camera for about two weeks and I can't seem to get the activity zones to work. On one camera, I only get notifications OUTSIDE the activity zone. On the other camera, I dont get any notifications when when I'm right near to the camera. I know there was a firmware update months ago, but these things are brand new so that should be fixed. What am I doing wrong and how do I get these activity zones and notifications to work?

Outside the zone would seem to be due to IR reflections from the sun's IR or other strong IR source. For the other, remove all zones and reboot the camera (or reinsert the battery to do the same thing) to see what happens.

I don't think it's Infrared reflections from the sun. It's catching the motion from the street even though it's not supposed to. Seems like there's a few folks that have issues with the Activity Zones. It's there a fix yet?

The usual fix is to reposition the camera to eliminate the street and other objects (trees, bushes, etc.) from the camera view as much as possible along with reducing the motion sensitivity. It certainly can be the sun's IR reflecting off cars, leaves or anything else that moves. As the sun's angle changes, the likelihood of this happening increases at certain times of year so many of us use different modes scheduled to minimize the issue. If using the new UI with only 3 modes to choose from, reducing the sensitivity after repositioning is your only choice since you can't create custom modes. Of course, if this happens in the dark there must be something else going on.
A screenshot of the camera view may be useful.
