Having trawled through numerous posts and spoken to the Arlo technical line, tried everything again and again, I was unable to set up my camera, the app and camera simply would not recognise each other. I opened ports, I checked they were both on 2.4 ghz, I checked both were connected to the wifi - they were, I rebooted, I started again with different ports. This has been going on for 3 days and I was at my wits end! After the weekend I was ready to send it back when I thought I'd give it one more try on the 123 port. Lo and behold it worked! It turned out that my phone was now connected to the 5 ghz bandwidth while the Arlo was on 2.4ghz. I am not tech savvy, although I am more tech savvy now having learned about port-forwarding etc, and I have no idea why this has worked against all the Arlo instructions but I thought I'd share in case anyone else was experiencing similar issues.
