I’m not stupid but the scheduling is very awkward to use.  I want all 4 cameras  to arm at sunset and go standby at sunrise everyday.  That’s it!

please walk me through this process step be step. Don’t leave “anything” out.

Since you are using the Pro 3 cameras, which require a base or hub to connect to, it's fairly easy. Go to Routines and verify that all 4 cameras have appropriate rules there. Then edit Standby and ensure NO cameras have rules.

Then click on Automations at the top, click on the 3 dot menu and select Add Schedule. Choose Sunset, give the schedule a name and then use the "+" icon to the right of Then Do This. Select Arm Away as the mode the system should switch to and finally click on Done. Now, do the same thing to add a second schedule but choose Sunrise and change the mode to Standby.

This FAQ may help. Use the embedded links to get more details.

Here’s what I have, still not picking up any activity. I think I have the settings as you suggested but no monitoring.

Rules for Standby are Am disarm switches are on with no other rules. PM arm home rules are in place and switches are on.

These screenshots might help (and do work):

Sunrise.jpeg

Sunset.PNG

Pay particular attention to the automation enable lists (right below the automation name).  That is usually what people get wrong.

If you post your screenshots, then it would be much easier for us to help.

Once you take a screenshot (it varies according to your device), you can use the "camera" icon above the text box you're typing into to be able to pick and choose which one(s) you want to post here.

I drag screenshots but it won’t upload! Can’t begin to tell how frustrating this is!

Did you try Choose Files which opens your default file manager so you can manually select them? If on iOS, rename any image that ends in .jpeg to .jpg.

You don't have any rules set for the Sunset schedule, you need to add the rules and have the mode switch to Arm Away, just how you created the "standby" mode for the sunrise schedule.

So you will need to go to Routines > Under modes > Select Arm Away > Pick your devices/rules and save > Go back to Routines > Select Automations > Create a schedule for the sunset schedule > Select the days, select sunset add action > change mode > Arm Away > Next > Save

Best to use the camera icon in the toolbar over the text window.  It will take jpg and png files.
