My pro 3 cameras stopped working do i need a subscription to get them working again

Do I need a subscription after a year ? My cameras stopped working and they want 600$ for a lifetime. I'd this a scam

Arlo support agents will never ask you for payments, credit card numbers, or bank information for support services. If you chose an optional paid subscription plan for your Arlo products, you can use your Arlo app to manage payments.

I suggest focussing on live streaming first.

Have you tried restarting the base?  Also remove the batteries and reinsert them in the cameras.
