Subject: Arlo Pro 3 cannot complete firmware update / Live View unavailable
Hello,
I have an original Arlo Pro 3 (VMC4040P) that is unable to complete its firmware update.
Symptoms:
- Current firmware: 1.060.12.2_6_fd2b14a
- The camera successfully factory resets.
- It successfully pairs with my VMB4540R3 SmartHub.
- The camera appears in the Devices list.
- The app detects that a firmware update is available.
- The firmware update starts, but the camera never reboots, the firmware version never changes, and the update appears to complete unsuccessfully.
- Live View only displays a spinning wheel indefinitely.
- The camera never streams video.
Troubleshooting already completed:
- Factory reset performed multiple times.
- Tested with two different VMB4540R3 SmartHubs.
- Tested with a known-good battery from another working Pro 3 camera.
- Moved the camera within a few feet of the SmartHub.
- Power-cycled both the camera and the SmartHub.
- Confirmed that four other Arlo Pro 3 cameras work normally on the same SmartHub and account.
Since the issue follows the camera across two different SmartHubs and the firmware never updates, I suspect the camera is stuck on an old firmware version or has a corrupted firmware state.
