Local recordings no longer in library.

When I purchased my Arlo Pro 3 cameras last spring I knew a subscription would bring me extra options, but my plans were to use the local storage option. That worked fine for a while, then one day my recordings were no longer in my library (probably due to an update.) It have been waiting for another update to resolve this for months, with no luck. I am absolutely frustrated that I purchased this system thinking I knew what I was getting, and now feel like I got hood winked. I have tried everything I can think of to get my local recordings back. Does anyone have any suggestions (besides switching to RING)?
