Trying to login on the Arlo Secure app but a message saying 'Internal Error' keeps popping up, I've tried resetting and changing my password and tried the website. I am stuck.

Please make sure your device is updated to the latest supported version OS. The Arlo Secure App requires iOS version 15 or higher for Apple devices and for Android, version 8 or higher. If you use Arlo on an earlier OS version than the minimum versions listed, Arlo systems and devices might not function as expected.

Note: make sure you have the latest version of the Arlo mobile app installed.

My phone was able to log in last night for no known reason on my end???  Once logged in, I tried to update the APP, but it still says that the phone is no longer compatible with the Arlo APP even though the Android phone is 8.1 OS (just like our other phone which got an update about 1yr ago).  I was therefore unable to update the APP.  I also checked for OS updates and there are none available - it is up to date with its 8.1 version.

Thank you, I will try to update this way even though the phone just starting working last night without any intervention on my end???

Thank you for all the feedback. I see reports of this as resolved. Is anyone still experiencing this symptom?

If so, can you please provide the model of the device, OS and Arlo app version again.

Hi Shane,

The phone just started successfully logging in without any changes on my end.  Nonetheless, I have tried to update the APP to match our other phone which worked the whole time and has a more recent version of the Arlo APP.  However, no matter how I try to accomplish the update I can't since I get this response:

"! This APP is not compatible with your device anymore.  Contact the Developers for more info." and so I can't find a way around this.

Both phones are identical except version of the Arlo APP:

(2) Android Phones one WITH the Problem and one WITHOUT the Problem:

Model:  LG Rebel 4 Tracphone LML212VL  (BOTH Phones)

Android Ver.:  8.1.0  (BOTH Phones)

Software Ver.:  L212VL16h  (BOTH Phones)

Arlo APP version:  3.6.6_28456  (This is the Phone that does NOT work, I can’t log in with, but I think this is the original version, never updated and is listed in the Phone APP’s info.)

Version:  5.0.1_28734  (This is the Phone that WORKS, version listed in Arlo Program’s Settings AND the Phone’s APP’s info.)

Again, phone just started working, did Arlo do something?

How can I get the APP updated from 3.6.6_28456 to newer?

@MK79  The arlo app version 5.0.1_28734 isn't the current app version. The reason you can't update the arlo app is because the update would install the newest version which is 5.2.2. This version isn't compatible with Android OS 8 it requires Android OS 9 or later. Since your phones are older and don't support the newest Android OS which is Android OS 14 you won't be able to update your Android OS either.

Thank you for the detailed info. The Arlo app requires Android 9 or higher. You can find that information here: https://kb.arlo.com/000062043/What-are-the-minimum-requirements-for-installing-and-using-an-Arlo-sys...

There's a good lesson here to those of us with older Androids who tend to not update apps regularly.  Update critical apps while they are still compatible with your version of Android.   Granted, there is a risk of loss of functionality.  These apps sometimes drop some feature or make unwanted cosmetic changes, but better than losing it.

I had a similar problem on an Android tablet when I got a new fitbit.   My existing fitbit app wouldn't log in and I couldn't upgrade.   I think that tablet may be Android 7.  It plays my games just fine and browser and email a-ok (so far), but I think this event is a good reminder for me to review essentials.

@JamesC:  The app is also available for amazon tablets

So the article should also give the minimum requirements for FireOS.

Hi Shane,

I know that version 5.0.1_28734 is compatible since our other identical phone has this update.  I understand that the latest Arlo APP may not be compatible, BUT can I at least update to 5.0.1_28734 (from 3.6.6_28456) to match my other phone?  I know that this version is compatible, but I don't know how to get it???

Also, did Arlo do something on their end because my old version APP is now working since a few days with no change on my side?

Yep, you're right.  I just figured I could always retrieve and install the latest APP which IS compatible, like 5.0.1_28734.

Is there no way to retrieve a specific APP version or the latest compatible one?

It seems this service from Arlo would help their clients without doing an updating work.

Yes, I understood, but...

Is there no way to find and update to the Arlo APP 5.0.1_28734 which will work on my OS?

It exists...  Is there a way to access it?
