Not sure I understand your first question.  The Pro 3 has PIR (infrared) sensors that will trigger when someone enters the camera's field of view.  The microphone can also be used to trigger on sound, though that generates too many false alerts for me.

The Pro 3 requires a base station, with the Pro 4 you could choose to use a base station or not.  The base station can make it easer to manage multiple cameras together, and it does provide backup storage for the motion recordings.  SmartHubs also let you see the backup recordings in the app - older base stations require you to eject the USB drive and connect it to a PC to review them.
