One of my 4 pro 3 cameras will only detect motion when on the ac power lead. When it is on wireless it won’t recognise the activity zone.

Of course that should work, since there's a subscription in place.

Did you try deleting the activity zone, and recreating it?

Actually, how do I delete an activity zone? There’s only a + button!

You select it, and then you can delete it.  It should be a swipe-left in the app - though personally I use my.arlo.com for this.

I have deleted activity zone and recreated it. No change.

Does it record anything with the activity zone deleted?

Does manual recording work when on battery power?

Have you tried the motion detection test when the camera is on battery power (  https://kb.arlo.com/1114344/How-do-I-use-the-motion-detection-test-for-my-Arlo-device )?

You might try swapping the battery with one of the cameras that works properly, and seeing if that makes a difference.  If the problem doesn't move with the battery, then I'd try swapping the cameras, and see if the problem is somehow related to the location.

Yes, it records with activity zone deleted manual only,
Manual recording works with battery on
Motion detection does not work on battery
Swapped batteries and the problem did not follow the battery, stayed with the camera.
I have tried the camera in several locations and it makes no difference.

If the motion detection test fails, then it likely is the camera.

You could look into exchanging with the seller, or you could contact Arlo support and ask for a replacement. https://www.arlo.com/en-us/support/contact.aspx
