Arlo Pro 3 recordings for 7 days without a subscription?

Was anyone else under the impression that when you bought the Arlo Pro 3 it saved your recordings for 7 days without a subscription but if you wanted to save it longer you needed to buy the subscription?

Certainly many people have made that mistake (since the older cameras did provide free 7-day cloud recording).

But none of the newer cameras (starting with the Ultra in 2018) include free 7-day cloud recording.  The packaging does say that a subscription is needed, though with some cameras the text isn't easy to find.
