Hello!
We have three Arlo Pro's and one Arlo Pro 3. We did not extend the subscription for the Arlo Pro 3, because it's not needed for is. It's just for the cats and to see who's at our house when we're not home. I know that the Arlo Pro 3 can save to the local USB, but since the ending of the trial, it's not recording.
I tried:
- rebooting base station
- rebooting camera
- reconnecting camera
- formatted USB device
What else can we do?
Many thanks in advance! Johnny

You list the VMB3000 which is not capable of USB recording and it's also not compatible with the Pro 3 so you must be using your WiFi for the connection. Unless you have a subscription, you'll get no recordings. If you updated your base to at least a VMB4540 and synced the camera to that, you could record to local storage and be able to see the videos via the app without the need to eject the drive for viewing on a computer.

On the VMB4000 you have to eject and pull the USB and view it through a computer. The app won't work if that is what you are trying. You can only view local recordings on the app with a smart hub. You can check this link out if you haven't.
How do I set up local storage backups on a USB device using my Arlo base station?

Hello! That's weird, I can see the recordings now with the three Arlo Pro camera's that I have. The only one not recording is the Arlo 3 camera.

Is the Pro 3 connected to your base or your WiFi? It has to be connected to the base to get local recordings. Of course, it also has to have a rule for recording in your active mode.

Thanks for the reply.
Not sure where to chech this. If I go to my Arlo, go to the camera I can see it's "connect to" the base station (name). Where else can I check?

He was referring to the mode settings and there check the rules for each camera. Recording option is there. It should be the same as your other cams since they record. This link will help explain it.

Ah like that! Thanks. 🙂
I check:
Log in on Arlo webportal
Go to modes
Go to ''armed"mode and select cam.
I can see that's active and should record if there's movement. But the different thing is that it show's an exclamation mark, the other camera's don't have this. All the functions look like they're set ok, but nothing is happening.
Doublecheck: I can see the Arlo 3 recordings in de app on the phone or do I need to disconnect the USB and put it in my pc? Again, I have a 4000r3 base station.

Yes as I stated in an earlier reply on the 4000 base you need to eject the USB and view it in a computer. Only the newer smart hubs work with the App.
I am not sure where you see the exclamation mark in the rules, I don't see it on web or app.

So.... a new base station would solve this? Which one to buy, the newest? Or does Arlo need a subscription there as well? I'm quite sad that we can't buy the old Arlo pro anymore.
Arlo is getting to commercial. 😞 We already bought a 600 euro system and still we need a subsciption? F Y arlo 😉

That's up to you. If you want to see Local recordings through the app you need a smart hub as I mentioned. They are the VMB4540 and VMB5000. You won't need a sub for that. If you want cloud recordings for the PRO3 you will. To me a sub is worth it and gives you other options.
I just use local as a back up as it is a pain.

VMB5000 it is! I wish to keep seeing the recordings on the phone app.
Any other benefits the 5000 has? I know, google is my friend.
