My 3 Arlo Pro 3 Cameras and my Arlo Essential Wireless Doorbell Camera won't stay set when I put on my Smart Notifications! I select all 4 Cameras then I hit done at the top right of the Filter symbol and the next time I look it will say only 1 Camera is set up for People, Vehicles, and Animals! I only choose those 3 Notifications! And for all 4 Cameras! Sometimes it will Say 4 and Sometimes it will say Any meaning any Camera I suppose! But it always goes back to just 1 Camera Monitoring People, Vehicles, and Animals! I only choose these Selections! My Firmware has been updated and I have Factory reset the Arlo Essential Wireless Doorbell Camera! I have the Multi-Camera Subscription!

It sounds like you are just filtering the recordings when you browse the library.  I don't think that is sticky, so it needs to be reset when you go back into the library.

Are you trying to manage notifications coming to your phone?  Or wanting to do something else?

Thank you for Replying! You may be correct because when I go to my Library and check Recordings I see it their! So your saying in the Library it only filters Cameras for viewing that has already been recorded? So the Library is not the page where I actually set up my Smart Notifications settings and Prameters? It is confusing and Peculiar how it always will say just 1, 4, or Any (Any Camera) and has never said 2 or 3 and I have gotten alerts on my Cellphone showing the Doorbell Camera, Camera # 1, and Camera # 3 all showing the same FedEx guy coming and going and Alert on the FedEx Vehicle to! I get Notifications on my phone from all 4 Cameras just fine it seems! But your were probably correct about that just being a filter for screening the Recordings that I want to look at or view! Thanks again! One other question! How can I get my Cameras to stop Alerting on my Vehicle setting there for 15 hours! It will Say Intrusion Vehicle Detected at 3:30am in the morning! Lol I look and it's my car in the Driveway! Is there a method of setting it up to not Alert on my own Vehicle setting in my Driveway? Like a Facial Recognition but Vehicle Recognition so it won't Alert!

Correct.  To set up the Smart Notifications, go into the app settings (or the settings page in my.arlo.com).  There is a Smart Notifications page there that lets you choose what notifications you want for each camera.

Other parameters are either in the settings for the camera, or are in the mode/rules.  For instance, you can disable all notifications (and/or recordings) in the rule(s).  But this is all-or-nothing - no controls for Smart there.  Motion sensitivity is also in the rule(s).

Vehicle Recognition would be a great feature (though of course you are assuming that the intruder wouldn't use the same model/color vehicle as one you own).

The way this works:

  1. first the camera detects motion (or optionally audio).
  2. then the camera streams video to the arlo cloud
  3. the arlo cloud's AI engine classifies the video
  4. then you get the notification.

One problem here is that step (1) can be triggered by any motion (or audio), and the Arlo Cloud doesn't know exactly what triggered it.  Since your vehicle is in the scene, the AI engine can conclude that it was the vehicle.  It should also be looking for motion, but motion around the vehicle (or even the quality buildup you often see at the beginning) can fool the AI.

In my experience, the most effective way to resolve this is to improve the triggering in step 1.  Adjusting the camera's field of view to avoid needless triggers is often the best way to start.

Activity zones can also help, so I suggest looking at that after you've gotten the best camera positioning.

Adjusting motion sensitivity can help too, though of course you don't want to lower it too much.  So look at that one after you've done the other two.
