I have an older base station model # VMB3010R2 . I wanted to know if the
Arlo Pro 3 wireless addon camera will work with my base station

That article says that the Pro 3 camera isn't compatible with your base.
You could instead get a Pro 4, and connect it directly to your home WiFi.
FYI - all the newer cameras (starting with the Ultra back in 2018) require a paid subscription to get cloud recordings.
