What base station do you have? If you have a VMB4540 or a VMB5000, then direct access to local storage might be an option for you. https://kb.arlo.com/000062337/What-is-Direct-Storage-Access-and-how-do-I-use-it
There are several limitations - lack of thumbnails, no access from friend accounts, no access from the web page among them.
