Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight mount question

First question. What is this used for? I’m referring to the small hole in the middle of the ball joint. It had a small silicone plug in it. I was hoping this is where you would screw on to the outdoor mounts as with past Arlo cams but I tried and it doesn’t work.

 

Second, is there a way to get the Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight to connect to an outdoor screw mount that I was using with my old Arlo Pro cam?

The supplied plastic mounting bracket looks and feels like it’s not gonna last. Plastic doesn’t usually hold up too good in direct sunlight etc.
