Brand new user. downloaded app (legacy unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) the only one available). connected router.   app found the device and initiated a firmware update.  After about 20 minutes, got an error "cannot update firmware".   Hit try again and same thing - took much longer this time.  My speeds are fine.  (download 23Mbps upload 6)

What can I try?  Looking for troubleshooting tips came up empty.   I miss the days of extensive user manuals packed with the product....

I have a 15 day window to return this thing. Reading all the problems and bad app reviews, I have a feeling it may be returned... tick tock...

when I said "app found the device"  I meant the base station.

I had to force-stop the app to get rid of that error-updating page.  Then I re-opened and went back to "add device" to attempt to add the camera, but it still insisted on checking for firmware update.  And no way to circumvent.   I even reset the router and base station just for good measure.

very frustrating...

fyi, the problem went away the next day with no changes by me.

Now I am trying to see where to place the camera and testing monitoring capabilities.  So far, I'm not so sure this camera is worth the trouble & expense.   I get clips showing no people.   I think this may have to do with 3-second lookback ability and using with battery vs. power adapter.  but if that's required then I will be returning it.   Doesn't make sense.  That's why I was attracted to a battery-operated camera.
